USC defensive tackle Bear Alexander, who started throughout last season after transferring in from Georgia, is set to enter the transfer portal again, a source confirmed to ESPN.

Alexander had 47 tackles for the Trojans last season, including 6.5 for loss and 1.5 sacks, as well as four quarterback hurries, which tied for the team lead. He started 12 of 13 games and earned honorable mention All-Pac-12 honors. USC’s coaching staff is aware of his intent to re-enter the portal in the spring transfer window, according to a source.

The 6-foot-3, 313-pound Alexander spent the 2022 season at Georgia, recording nine tackles, two sacks and 13 quarterback hurries in helping the Bulldogs to their second consecutive national title. A native of Terrell, Texas, he attended two high schools in his home state before finishing at IMG Academy in Florida.

ESPN rated Alexander as the No. 56 overall recruit in the 2022 class.

USC brought in new defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn from UCLA in December and added several key transfers on defense during the winter period, including Oregon State‘s Easton Mascarenas-Arnold and Akili Arnold.

On3 first reported Alexander’s expected jump into the portal.
