Wales fullback Amos to miss rest of Six Nations with knee injury

Rugby

Wales and Cardiff Blues fullback Hallam Amos has been ruled out for the remainder of the Six Nations due to a knee injury, the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) have announced.

Amos sustained the injury during Cardiff’s 34-24 victory over Benetton Treviso in the PRO 14 last month.

The fullback will have surgery and it is expected that he will also miss the remainder of the season.

Defending Grand Slam champions Wales sit in fourth place in the Six Nations after following up their opening-round victory over Italy with back-to-back defeats to Ireland and France.

Wales will travel to Twickenham on Saturday to face England in a bid to keep their Six Nations title hopes alive.
