Leonard, George to return for Clips vs. Hornets

NBA

Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are active and available to return for the LA Clippers on Monday at Charlotte.

Head coach Ty Lue told reporters in Charlotte before the game against the Hornets that the Clippers will have their two stars back again after the two have been out for the past couple of weeks.

Leonard had missed the previous six games due to a sprained right ankle. And George missed seven consecutive games because of a right hamstring strain.

The Clippers also will have guard Luke Kennard, who missed nine straight games with a strained right calf. Guard Norman Powell remains out with a left groin strain.

Leonard and George participated in practice on Friday and appeared close to returning on Saturday against the Sacramento Kings. But they were ruled out before that game.

Lue has had Leonard and George on the court together in only four games this season for a total of 65 minutes. The Clippers are plus-38 with their two stars on the court together, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.
