Magic injury woes continue as Anthony sidelined

NBA

Orlando Magic guard Cole Anthony is out indefinitely after imaging confirmed a right internal oblique muscle injury, the team announced on Thursday.

Anthony played 32 minutes in Wednesday’s loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers but struggled shooting from the field with nine points on 10 shots.

The loss puts further strain on the Magic’s backcourt depth, as the team is already missing Markelle Fultz (toe fracture), Jalen Suggs (right ankle sprain) and Gary Harris (left knee rehabilitation).

Anthony is averaging 15.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists this season. His return to play will depend on how he responds to rehabilitation and treatment, according to the team.

The Magic, still searching for their first win, next host the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night.
