Suns rule out Booker (hamstring) for Game 5

NBA

Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker has been ruled out for Game 5 of the team’s first-round playoff series against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday because of his right hamstring strain.

The series is tied 2-2.

It will be the third consecutive game Booker has missed since he suffered the injury in the third quarter of Game 2. Booker has been improving over the past few days but hasn’t yet been cleared to return.

The Suns haven’t set a return timetable for Booker, who has a history with hamstring injuries. Earlier this season, Booker missed three weeks with a left hamstring injury.

Cam Johnson has started in Booker’s place the past two games and has struggled shooting, going 6-of-19. The Suns miss Booker’s outside shooting and have made just 11 of 53 3-pointers in their two games without him.
