Toss England Women opted to bowl vs New Zealand Women

In a match dubbed as the virtual knockout, England opted to bowl first with inclement weather around at the Eden Park in Auckland in the Women’s World Cup. The toss was delayed by 15 minutes due to rain earlier in the morning. The teams got their choice as New Zealand captain Sophie Devine said that they wanted to bat first. Both England and New Zealand fielded the same team from their previous games.

The two sides are placed in the bottom half of the points table, having lost three games apiece. While defending champions England managed to get a win on the board in their previous match against India, hosts New Zealand have won two so far.

The game will be played on the same strip India and Australia played on Saturday and both Nasser Hussain and Ian Smith reckoned that the pitch still has lots of runs on it.

New Zealand 1 Suzie Bates, 2 Sophie Devine (capt), 3 Amelia Kerr, 4 Amy Satterthwaite, 5 Maddy Green, 6 Brooke Halliday, 7 Katey Martin (wk), 8 Frances Mackay, 9 Hannah Rowe, 10 Lea Tahuhu, 11 Jess Kerr

England 1 Tammy Beaumont, 2 Danielle Wyatt, 3 Heather Knight (capt), 4 Natalie Sciver, 5 Amy Jones (wk), 6 Sophia Dunkley, 7 Katherine Brunt, 8 Sophie Ecclestone, 9 Kate Cross, 10 Charlie Dean, 11 Anya Shrubsole
