Anunoby won’t need surgery; Raps mull next step

NBA

Toronto Raptors coach Nick Nurse said Tuesday that OG Anunoby won’t need surgery to repair a fractured right ring finger that’s sidelined him for the past several days.

Anunoby saw a hand specialist Monday.

“The specialist said it was nearly healed, it’s getting better every day,” Nurse told reporters. “He’s able to play on it. They said probably within two weeks it would be fully healed, so I guess we’re just trying to decide which route we’re going to take.”

Tuesday’s 109-108 home win against the Brooklyn Nets was the fourth straight game Anunoby has missed.

He’s averaging 17.5 points and 5.5 rebounds this season.
