Sources: Terry finalizing G League coaching deal

NBA

Former NBA guard Jason Terry is finalizing a deal to become the new head of the Grand Rapids Gold, the new G League affiliate of the Denver Nuggets, sources tell ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Terry wanted to get on a path to becoming a head coach after an 19-year NBA career that included a championship with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011 and an NBA sixth-man of the year award in 2009.

Terry spent the last year as an assistant coach at the University of Arizona, his alma mater.

In addition to his time with the Mavs, Terry also played for the Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Houston Rockets and Milwaukee. He retired after the 2017-18 season with the Bucks.

Terry was the assistant general manager for the Texas Legends of the G-League in 2019.
