USA’s Tatum out of Argentina game due to knee

NBA

LAS VEGAS — Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum sat out Team USA’s game with Argentina Tuesday because of right knee soreness.

He’s officially being listed as day-to-day, but the injury is not considered serious. Team USA was playing on a back-to-back and Tatum was being rested as a precaution, sources said.

Tatum is averaging 11.5 points and five rebounds in the pre-Olympic exhibition games thus far.

The United States has lost two straight exhibition games heading into the Olympics. They lost to Australia 91-83 in Las Vegas Monday after falling to Nigeria in the previous game. Team USA has lost four of its past five games.
