Dodgers shortstop Seager out with broken hand

MLB

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager broke his right hand in the fifth inning of Saturday’s win when he was hit by Miami Marlins left-hander Ross Detwiler.

X-rays after the game revealed the injury, the Dodgers announced.

The news hits a Dodgers team already sporting Cody Bellinger, AJ Pollock, David Price, Zach McKinstry and Dustin May on their injured list.

Seager, 27, won NLCS and World Series MVP honors during the Dodgers’ postseason run to the title last year.

He is slashing .267/.355/.425 with 4 home runs and 22 RBIs this season.
