Detroit Pistons rookie guard Killian Hayes is out indefinitely after suffereing a torn labrum in his right hip.

The Pistons announced Wednesday that Hayes will continue to be evaluated by the medical staff, but no updates were made available on a timetable for his return. The team said an MRI performed Tuesday confirmed the diagnosis.

The 6-foot-5 Hayes suffered the injury during Monday’s loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. He exited the game during the third quarter after falling while defending a fast-break layup attempt by Jrue Holiday.

Hayes, 19, was drafted seventh overall by the Pistons last year and has started all seven games this season, despite averaging 4.6 points and 3.6 assists on 27.7% shooting.

The latest injury report has Hayes listed as out for Wednesday’s game in Milwaukee.
