Former lottery pick Kaminsky waived by Kings

NBA

The Sacramento Kings waived veteran forward/center Frank Kaminsky on Sunday.

The Kings had signed the former lottery pick to a one-year contract last month after the Phoenix Suns declined his $5.2 million option for the 2020-21 season.

In four preseason games with the Kings, Kaminsky averaged 5.3 points in 7.6 minutes per game.

The 7-footer has career averages of 9.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 321 games over five seasons.

The Charlotte Hornets selected him ninth overall in the 2015 draft and he spent his first four seasons with the team.
