KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The New England Patriots wasted a chance to tie the game or take the lead late in the first half on Monday when Frank Clark sacked Brian Hoyer.
The Patriots began the play on the Kansas City 13 with 13 seconds to play. But with no timeouts remaining, Clark’s 13-yard sack of Hoyer ended the half with the Chiefs leading 6-3. It appeared that Hoyer tried to call timeout after the sack.

All three of Clark’s sacks this season have been on third down, most in the NFL, according to ESPN Stats & Info. Clark’s eight sacks on third down are second most in the NFL since he joined the Chiefs in 2019.
