It appears as though Yoel Romero will be sticking around at middleweight.
According to multiple sources, a fight between Romero and Uriah Hall is in the works for August. The UFC has yet to issue bout agreements for the fight, nor has it finalized a specific date, sources said, but the current plan is for the bout to happen in August.
Romero (13-5) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to middleweight champion Israel Adesanya in March. The loss marked his third in a row. After the fight, there was talk that Romero, 43, would test the waters at light heavyweight, though that never materialized.
Hall (15-9), who has won two in a row, was scheduled to fight Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza at UFC 249 on May 9. But that fight was canceled the night before the event because Souza tested positive for COVID-19.
