Rising star Sean O’Malley is scheduled to fight veteran Eddie Wineland at UFC 250, per multiple sources.

The event is slated to take place at the UFC Apex arena in Las Vegas, though the promotion has yet to officially announce that because it is waiting for the state of Nevada to give the green light for combat sports events to return to the state following a two-month shutdown in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

O’Malley (11-0) most recently fought at UFC 248 against Jose Alberto Quinonez and won via first-round TKO. That win, his first fight in over two years because of a United States Anti-Doping Agency violation, improved his UFC record to 3-0.

Wineland (24-13-1) hasn’t fought in almost a year. His most recent fight was a June 2019 victory over Grigory Popov. He is a former UFC title contender and the inaugural WEC bantamweight champion, which is the belt that later became the UFC 135-pound title.

Two other fights recently added to the card were Aljamain Sterling vs. Cory Sandhagen and Chase Hooper vs. Alex Caceres, per sources.
