Floyd Mayweather’s showdown with Manny Pacquiao in 2015 was one of the biggest boxing events in history. It generated more than 4.4 million pay-per-view buys and over $72 million in ticket sales. On Saturday night on ESPN, boxing fans will have an opportunity to relive this event.
The four-hour block of boxing begins at 7 p.m. ET and features some great Mayweather and Pacquiao moments, culminating in that matchup in 2015.
Fights include Mayweather’s bout with Zab Judah in 2006, a fight remembered for a melee in the 10th round after Judah hit Mayweather with a low blow, prompting Mayweather’s trainer and uncle, Roger Mayweather, to enter the ring to confront Judah. Judah’s trainer and father, Yoel Judah, threw a punch at Roger Mayweather, and a lot of other people, including some in the fighters’ entourages, stormed the ring. After several minutes, the fight resumed.
The broadcast will include two other Pacquiao fights, his second bout against Juan Manuel Marquez in 2008 and the beatdown of Miguel Cotto in 2009 to win a title in a seventh different division.
The special presentation will also include an interview with Top Rank chairman Bob Arum. Arum lays out the hurdles that boxing must overcome to return, how the travel restrictions are impacting the sport and will discuss Fury-Wilder 3. The interview will air approximately at 9 p.m. ET.
