The Miami Marlins selected the contract of right-hander Adam Oller from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday and designated infielder Emmanuel Rivera for assignment.

Oller is expected to get the start for the Marlins against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday. Rivera’s DFA opened up a spot on the 40-man roster as well as the active roster.

The Marlins also optioned RHP George Soriano to Jacksonville and recalled INF/OF Connor Norby.

The Marlins signed Oller, 29, to a minor league contract in July. He is 3-9 with a 7.09 ERA across two seasons with the Oakland A’s, making 28 appearances (15 starts) from 2022-23.

Rivera, 28, batted .214/.294/.269 in 96 games with the Marlins, who acquired him from Arizona after the D-backs DFA’d him in April. He had a homer and 15 RBIs for the Marlins.

Norby, 24, was acquired from the Baltimore Orioles at the trade deadline in the deal that sent Trevor Rogers to Baltimore. Norby hit .188 with two HRs in nine games for the O’s this season.

Soriano, 25, is 0-1 with a 7.32 ERA and one save in 15 relief appearances in 2024 for the Marlins.
