MLB

The Oakland Athletics reinstated right-hander Lucas Erceg from the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

The 29-year-old setup man landed on the IL on May 31 after he experienced forearm tightness.

Erceg is 2-2 with two saves and a 2.86 ERA in 21 relief appearances this season, his second with the A’s.

The 2016 second-round pick debuted with Oakland in 2023 and went 4-4 with a 4.75 ERA in 50 games (no starts).

The A’s optioned right-hander Michel Otanez to Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move.

Otanez, 26, made his MLB debut Monday at San Diego and gave up one hit and one walk while recording two outs.
