Pittsburgh Pirates left-hander Martin Perez is heading to the 15-day injured list, manager Derek Shelton said Tuesday.

Pittsburgh is awaiting more tests after Perez injured his left groin in Sunday’s start against the Atlanta Braves and left after three innings.

Perez, who was an American League All-Star in 2022 and won the World Series with the Texas Rangers in 2023, is 1-3 with a 4.71 ERA through 11 starts this season.
