The Texas Rangers activated catcher Jonah Heim from the bereavement list and right-hander Jonathan Hernandez from the 15-day injured list on Tuesday.
In corresponding moves, Texas optioned catcher Sam Huff and right-hander Owen White to Triple-A Round Rock.
The Rangers also sent right-hander Josh Sborz to Double-A Frisco for an injury rehabilitation assignment.
Heim, 28, was placed on the bereavement list Saturday. The 2023 All-Star is batting .264 with three homers and 15 RBIs through 18 games this season.
Hernandez, 27, opened the season on the IL while recovering from a right lat strain. He was 1-1 with one save and a 2.70 ERA in eight relief appearances on a rehab assignment at Round Rock.
Huff, 26, made his season debut as a defensive replacement in Saturday’s 5-2 loss at Atlanta. He did not come to the plate.
White, 24, has not appeared in a game this season for Texas. He was called up from Round Rock prior to Friday’s series opener against the Braves.
Sborz, 30, landed on the 15-day IL on April 7 with a strained right rotator cuff. He had three scoreless appearances in relief for Texas before the injury.
