TCU starting DT Williams to enter transfer portal

TCU starting defensive tackle Damonic Williams told ESPN that he is planning to enter the transfer portal.

Williams is a 6-foot-2, 300-pound sophomore who started in 15 games during his freshman season in 2022. In his first season, he had 27 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.

Williams followed that up by once again starting every game for TCU in 2023 and accumulated 33 tackles, 5 tackles for loss and 3 sacks. He was named honorable mention All-Big 12 in 2023, as well as honorable mention All-Big 12 defensive lineman of the year.

With his stats and ability to disrupt the middle of a defensive line, combined with two years of eligibility remaining, Williams will likely be a coveted prospect in this spring transfer window once he enters his name in the portal.

Coaches are not allowed to contact players until they have entered the proper paperwork to put their name in the database, and players have until April 30 to do so.
