Source: Browns’ Ford (ankle) to miss 1-2 weeks

NFL

BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns are expected to be without running back Jerome Ford for one or two weeks with an ankle injury, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday.

Ford has been Cleveland’s featured running back since All-Pro Nick Chubb suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 2.

A source told Schefter that Ford suffered a “low grade, high ankle” sprain in Sunday’s 39-38 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

Ford scored a 69-yard touchdown on Cleveland’s first series against the Colts. He has rushed for 344 yards and two touchdowns this season. He also has two touchdown catches.

Kareem Hunt will take over as Cleveland’s lead running back. Hunt, who had a 1-yard, game-winning touchdown run in Indianapolis, re-signed with the Browns after Chubb’s injury.
