Ravens excuse WR Johnson from team activities

OWINGS MILLS, Md. — The Baltimore Ravens announced Monday they have mutually agreed with wide receiver Diontae Johnson to excuse him from team activities this week.

Johnson served a one-game suspension last week after he refused to enter Baltimore’s Dec. 1 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Asked if he foresees Johnson returning to the team next week, Harbaugh said his focus is playing the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday.

“Next week will take care of itself,” Harbaugh said.

Harbaugh was asked why the Ravens didn’t release Johnson.

“There are reasons for doing things,” he said.
