Bloesch no longer Cal’s offensive coordinator

NCAAF

Cal announced Tuesday its football team will have a new offensive coordinator, leaving current OC Mike Bloesch’s future unclear.

In a statement, coach Justin Wilcox said there would be a change in leadership to the offensive staff, and that a search for an offensive coordinator had begun. The statement also said specific roles for existing staff have yet to be determined.

Bloesch was not mentioned by name in the statement.

Bloesch came to Cal in 2023 and served as offensive line coach/run game coordinator. This past season, he served as offensive coordinator, in addition to offensive line coach. Cal struggled at times up front throughout the course of the season and played inconsistently on offense, averaging 382.8 yards per game.
