Creighton guard Steven Ashworth is set to miss time for the No. 14 Bluejays after suffering a lower-leg injury during Friday’s 74-63 loss to Nebraska.

Ashworth landed on a defender’s foot while attempting a 3-pointer late in the second half. He fell to the floor in pain before ultimately being helped off the court.

“We have no idea how long Steven’s gonna be out,” Creighton coach Greg McDermott said after the game, according to the Omaha World-Herald. “I think it’s gonna be a while.”

McDermott said he hopes to know more about Ashworth’s injury Saturday.

Ashworth ranks second on the Bluejays with 16.0 points per game and leads with the team with 6.4 assists per game.

Creighton is set to face San Diego State and No. 23 Texas A&M next week in the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas.
