Sources: West Virginia QB Greene unlikely to play

NCAAF

West Virginia starting quarterback Garrett Greene and left tackle Wyatt Milum are considered doubtful for Saturday’s game at Arizona, sources told ESPN.

Greene left last week’s loss to Kansas State with an upper-body injury. He has thrown for 4,422 yards in his career with 30 touchdown passes and 15 interceptions.

Nicco Marchiol is expected to get his second career start at quarterback in Greene’s absence. He has played in 16 career games and has 388 career passing yards and 228 rushing yards.

Milum is a four-year starter and one of the top offensive tackles in the sport. He has been one of the highest-graded tackles by Pro Football Focus, which named him a midseason All-American. He was second-team All-Big 12 last year, as voted by the conference’s coaches.

West Virginia is 3-4 with all four losses to teams that are in College Football Playoff race: Penn State, Pittsburgh, Iowa State and Kansas State.
