Source: Saints, Kamara agree on 2-year extension

NFL

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints have agreed to a two-year extension with running back Alvin Kamara, a source told ESPN Tuesday, confirming a report.

The extension is worth approximately $24.5 million, the source said.

Kamara was the last major contract the Saints had not restructured or addressed. Kamara did not go to one day of mandatory minicamp because of his contract but went through training camp as normal and said he was willing to play the season without a new deal.

Kamara has 111 carries this season, for 438 yards and six touchdowns. He also has 34 receptions for 252 yards and another score.

Kamara recently denied trade rumors and said on X that he would like to finish his career in New Orleans.

The NFL Network first reported news of the agreement.
