Joe Burrow takes off for 47-yard TD on opening drive

NFL

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Joe Burrow‘s longest run as a pro opened the scoring on “Sunday Night Football” against the New York Giants.

With the Cincinnati Bengals facing third-and-18, Burrow appeared to make an audible at the line of scrimmage. As soon as he got the shotgun snap, he took off running into a vacant right side of the field.

Burrow dove for the pylon and beat Giants safety Jason Pinnock to the end zone to give the Bengals a 7-0 lead with 11:32 left in the first quarter. Before that 47-yard run, Burrow’s career long was 23 yards.

The last time he had a carry that long was back in college at LSU, when he reeled off a 59-yarder against Georgia in 2018.
