Source: Bucs RBs White, Irving expected to play

NFL

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running backs Rachaad White and Bucky Irving are both expected to play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

White is listed as questionable because of food poisoning and, according to the source, already feels better. Irving is questionable because of a hamstring injury. Irving was limited in practice during the week but did vow to play Thursday when speaking to reporters.

The Buccaneers will be without starting right tackle Luke Goedeke, who did not clear the concussion protocol Saturday and has been downgraded to out for Sunday’s game. It’s the third straight week the Bucs will be without Goedeke, who suffered a concussion in Week 1 against the Washington Commanders. Goedeke had practiced all week. He was limited Wednesday, practiced fully Thursday and then was limited Friday. The Bucs have surrendered 12 sacks over the past two weeks without him.

For the second week in a row, the Bucs called up veteran wide receiver Sterling Shepard from the practice squad, accounting for a Friday hamstring injury sustained by rookie receiver Jalen McMillan and an ankle injury to Kameron Johnson. They also elevated punter Trenton Gill because of recent struggles by Jake Camarda.

ESPN’s Jenna Laine contributed to this report.
