The Giants also optioned catcher Jakson Reetz to Triple-A, while catcher Curt Casali was reinstated from the paternity list and right-hander Landen Roupp was recalled for bullpen depth.

The Giants led the Washington Nationals, 5-2, in the ninth inning Thursday before Doval walked both Keibert Ruiz and Travis Blankenhorn. Luis Garcia Jr. hit a three-run home run with two outs to send the game into extra innings, but San Francsico managed to come away with the victory.
