Sources: Suns bring back O’Neale on 4-year deal

NBA

Free agent forward Royce O’Neale intends to sign a four-year, $44 million deal to return to the Phoenix Suns, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Saturday.

O’Neale, 31, closed the season with the Suns after Phoenix acquired him from the Brooklyn Nets in a trade deadline week deal.

The 6-foot-4 wing gave Phoenix an instant boost, providing the Suns with much-needed perimeter defense and more shooting around Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.

O’Neale, a veteran of seven NBA seasons, shoots 38.1% from 3 for his career and has appeared in nearly 50 postseason games.

He is coming off a four-year $36 million deal he signed with the Jazz in 2020.
