Jays put slumping Bichette on IL with calf strain

The Toronto Blue Jays placed shortstop Bo Bichette on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right calf strain.

The two-time All-Star, who has not played since Friday, is batting a career-worst .237 with 4 home runs and 28 RBIs in 66 games this season.

The Blue Jays recalled infielder Orelvis Martinez and right-hander Ryan Burr from Triple-A Buffalo and optioned left-hander Brandon Eisert to Buffalo.

Martinez, 22, is batting .260 with 16 home runs and 46 RBIs in 63 games this season, while Burr, 30, has no decisions and a 2.70 ERA in two relief appearances for Toronto this season.
