Jevon Porter, the younger brother of Denver Nuggets star Michael Porter Jr., is expected to join Loyola Marymount team for offseason workouts, weeks after a DWI arrest in Missouri, a school spokesman said Tuesday.

Jevon Porter, who transferred to Loyola Marymount from Pepperdine in the spring, was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of DWI in Boone County (Missouri), but he was released on summons and not booked into the local jail, according to Missouri State Sgt. Kyle Green.

An official with the Boone County prosecuting attorney’s office told ESPN on Tuesday that it did not have any records of charges that had been filed against Porter.

“LMU anticipates that Jevon Porter will join the team for summer workouts as normal based on the information available at this time,” Loyola Marymount spokesman Matthew Lerman said in a statement to ESPN on Tuesday.

A 6-foot-11 forward, Jevon averaged 16.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game for Pepperdine, which fired former head coach Lorenzo Romar after the season.

Porter will join a Loyola Marymount squad that finished 12-19 during the 2023-24 campaign.

Jevon’s brother Jontay received a lifetime ban from the NBA in April for gambling on games, influencing the outcome of bets and providing confidential information to bettors.

Another Porter brother, Coban, was sentenced to six years in prison, days after Jontay’s lifetime ban, for a drunk-driving crash last year that killed a woman in Colorado and seriously injured her passenger. According to police records, Coban’s blood alcohol level exceeded 0.19, more than twice the legal limit.
