Sources: Bulls add Unseld Jr., Craig as assistants

NBA

Former Washington Wizards coach Wes Unseld Jr. and LA Clippers assistant Dan Craig are joining Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan’s staff as top assistant coaches, sources told ESPN on Sunday.

Donovan is remaking his staff with the departure of Chris Fleming and after Josh Longstaff’s acceptance of a new job as the second assistant with the Charlotte Hornets.

Unseld spent two-plus seasons as the Wizards coach before his dismissal in January and the prior six campaigns as part of the Denver Nuggets‘ rise to prominence under Michael Malone.

Unseld also had stops with the Orlando Magic (2012-15), the Golden State Warriors (2011-12) and previously with the Wizards (2005-11).

Craig spent the past four seasons on Ty Lue’s staff with the Clips following four campaigns under Erik Spoelstra with the Miami Heat. Craig was the Heat’s G League head coach in 2015-16 with Sioux Falls and began his career in the Heat’s video room.
