‘Patience and motorsport don’t go together’ – Horner

Formula 1

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner meets British showjumper Jack Whitaker and they compare the pressures of competing at the top of their respective sports.

Horner gives him a tour of his new racing yard and explains how his love of horses has been an important distraction away from the intensity of the F1 season, as he celebrates his 20th year with Red Bull.

“To have longevity, you need to have balance,” he said. “Competitive people are not patient. What it teaches you is to look inwardly. Being self-critical is the best way forward. You can’t be right all of the time.”
