Columbus Blue Jackets forward Sean Kuraly was released from a local hospital after he went down with an abdominal injury in Saturday’s 4-1 home loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, the team announced Sunday.

Kuraly left the game with 18 seconds remaining in the first period and did not return. He was hit by Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe behind the Toronto net and then took a puck to the chest area before skating off the ice while bent over.

He collapsed behind the Columbus bench, and the team announced during the game that Kuraly was taken to Grant Medical Center for further evaluation.

Kuraly was released from the hospital late Saturday night after all tests came back negative for a serious injury, the team said.

The 30-year-old Kuraly has six goals and 11 points in 35 games this season. In eight career NHL seasons beginning with the Boston Bruins (2016-21), the Ohio native has 55 goals and 129 points in 453 games.
