Toss West Indies chose to bowl vs India
India, meanwhile, opted to rest Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, with Hardik Pandya leading the team for the second outing. Rohit batted only at No. 7 in the first ODI while Kohli was not even needed as India chased just down the 115-target in 22.5 overs.
Samson last played an ODI in November 2022, and has, of late, struggled to make it to the playing XI. Axar has more recent ODI game time under his belt having last played against Australia in March.
The second game is a must-win for West Indies, who have lost their last five home ODI series and trail three-match series 1-0.
