NEW YORK — LeBron James and Anthony Davis were both ruled out of Monday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, the Los Angeles Lakers announced on Sunday.
On the front end of back-to-back games in New York, James will be held out with left ankle soreness.
Davis is resting with his right foot stress injury after playing in the Lakers’ last two games following a 20-game absence because of the foot.
James needs 117 more points to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for No. 1 on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.
On Tuesday night, Los Angeles will take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
