Atlanta starting forwards De’Andre Hunter and John Collins will be out for a stretch of games after they were hurt in Wednesday’s 125-108 victory over the Orlando Magic.
The Hawks said Hunter will miss at least one week after an MRI revealed a right hip flexor strain. The injury plagued forward, who missed two months last season with a wrist injury, will be reevaluated in one week, meaning he’ll sit out at least four games.
The Hawks added that Collins underwent an MRI scan that revealed a left ankle sprain and some swelling in the joint that will keep the six-year veteran out at least the next two weeks.
Hunter played only seven minutes during Wednesday night’s win over Orlando and Collins was hurt after a dunk that didn’t count at the halftime buzzer.
Hunter, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft, was averaging 14.9 points in 21 games this season. Collins, meanwhile, is averaging 12.3 points per game.
