The San Antonio Spurs have claimed forward Isaiah Roby off waivers, the team announced on Tuesday.
Roby, 24, averaged 10 points on 51% shooting for the Oklahoma City Thunder last season and had started 62 games for them over the last two years. The Thunder, facing a roster crunch, waived Roby earlier this week.
The 45th pick in the 2019 draft, Roby boasts strong defense to go along with his 6-foot-8 frame and has been slowly expanding his game on offense. He shot 44.4% from deep last season on nearly 100 attempts.
San Antonio, having traded All-Star guard Dejounte Murray to the Atlanta Hawks last month, look to be heading into a rebuild, and Roby will be poised to earn minutes on a young Spurs roster.
