Curry (foot) returns to team practice with Warriors

NBA

SAN FRANCISCO — Stephen Curry participated in team practice for the first time since straining his left foot on Wednesday.

According to Warriors coach Steve Kerr, the practice consisted of situational prep work for the Warriors” upcoming series against the Denver Nuggets, shooting drills and skill work.

“He said he felt good,” Kerr said. “Now we’ve got to see how he feels tomorrow, and we’ll re-evaluate tomorrow.”

The Warriors are scheduled to scrimmage on Thursday, and Curry is expected to participate. This is a crucial step for Curry, as Kerr said it would be irresponsible to have him play in a game before scrimmaging.

“He’s looking good to scrimmage tomorrow,” Kerr said. “Then we’ll take the next step.”

“His conditioning should be good, so it’s more just the training staff making the decision based on their evaluation of him.”
