George among 4 Clippers starters out vs. Bucks

NBA

Paul George will rest his shooting elbow and sit out his first game since returning from injury when the LA Clippers play at the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday.

After losing 135-130 in overtime in Chicago on Thursday night, the Clippers will hold out four starters for the second game of a back-to-back. Reggie Jackson (rest), Marcus Morris Sr. (left knee soreness) and Nic Batum (left ankle soreness) will join George on the sideline. Rookie Brandon Boston Jr. (non-COVID-19 illness) is also out.

George has played in two games since returning to the court after suffering a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his shooting elbow in December. George logged 31 minutes and scored 34 points Tuesday in a win over the Utah Jazz. Against the Bulls, George played 32 minutes and scored 22 points but did not play in overtime after reaching his minutes limit, according to coach Ty Lue.

With five games remaining, the Clippers have clinched a play-in berth and are entrenched in eighth place in the West at 37-40.
