The cases were discovered five days after the team returned from the Women’s World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe
Two members of the Bangladesh women team tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday, five days after returning from the Women’s World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe.
Both are in isolation while the rest of the contingent has gone back to quarantine after undergoing tests on Monday.
The squad members were supposed to be released from quarantine on Monday itself, after which they were scheduled to meet the BCB president as part of their celebrations for qualifying for the Word Cup. The program had to be cancelled due to the positive cases.
According to a BCB media release, the team was tested upon returning to Dhaka on December 1 and again two days later, with all returning negative results. The December 6 tests, however, produced the two positives.
