Louisiana coach Billy Napier is expected to become Florida’s new coach barring a collapse in contract talks, sources told ESPN’s Chris Low and Mark Schlabach on Sunday.
Napier’s representatives have been in negotiations with Florida administrators over the last few days, the sources said.
Napier would replace Dan Mullen, who was fired last Sunday after going 34-15 in four seasons as the Gators’ coach.
Napier would be the Gators’ fourth head coach in eight seasons.
He is 39-12 in four seasons as Louisiana’s coach, including 11-1 this season.
