Curry, Green, Iguodala out Friday for Warriors

NBA

The Golden State Warriors will be very short-handed against the Detroit Pistons on Friday night.

Star guard Stephen Curry (hip contusion), Draymond Green (right thigh contusion), Andre Iguodala (right knee soreness) and Otto Porter Jr. (left foot) will all sit out on the second night of a back-to-back.

Curry said after Thursday’s win against the Cleveland Cavaliers that his hip was still bothering him after a collision with Brooklyn Nets guard James Harden in Tuesday’s win over the Nets.

“I’ll get an assessment,” Curry said. “That charge really messed with me a little bit, so I’m just trying to deal with that a little bit. So we’ll see how it feels when I wake up.”

The Warriors, who come into Friday’s game with a league-best 13-2 record, are opting to rest some of their key veterans at the end of a four-game East Coast swing — giving the group a chance to be ready for Sunday’s home game against the Toronto Raptors.
