MLB

New York Yankees slugger Joey Gallo received some positive news on Thursday when X-rays and CT cans on his injured left hand/forearm came back negative.

Gallo will be an option off the bench for Thursday night’s game at the Toronto Blue Jays.

Gallo was injured when he was hit by a pitch in the seventh inning of Wednesday’s 6-5 loss to the Blue Jays. He was unable to bat in the ninth inning of the game.

Meanwhile, first baseman Luke Voit is heading to the IL, manager Aaron Boone announced.

Voit appeared to hurt himself running to first after striking out during Wednesday’s game. Voit had been dealing with a left knee bone bruise.
