Sources: Wolves’ Edwards suffers sprained ankle

NBA

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards suffered a sprained ankle Wednesday playing for the USA Select Team at Team USA training camp in Las Vegas, sources said.

The injury isn’t believed to be serious, but it will keep Edwards out of the rest of the camp. It occurred during a scrimmage when Edwards stepped on Team USA’s Draymond Green‘s foot.

It was a downer on what had been a good day for the younger Select Team, which beat the senior Team USA in the scrimmage, sources said.

Edwards averaged 19.3 points and 4.7 rebounds for the Wolves last season and finished runner up in the Rookie of the Year vote.

ESPN Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski contributed to this story.
