College football’s 2022 recruiting class is a little over halfway through its first month of visits in June after spending the past year sidelined by a dead period.
This month will likely help prospects form opinions on top schools and lead to commitments. The visits were much needed for recruits and coaches alike, as there are a ton of top prospects still uncommitted and undecided.
As of now, 171 of the ESPN 300 recruits are uncommitted. That includes nine of the 12 five-stars, 29 of the top 50 prospects, 56 of the top 100 and 88 of the top 150. Those numbers are pretty similar to where last year’s class was at this point (27 of the 50 prospects, 47 of the top 100 and 147 of the top 300).
With so many big names still on the board, here is a look at the top committed and uncommitted recruit at each offensive position in this class and where their recruitments stand.
Quarterback
Top committed:
Quinn Ewers
Ohio State
Ewers, the top prospect overall, decommitted from Texas last October and has been committed to Ohio State since November 2020.
While that was before the Longhorns hired coach Steve Sarkisian, Ewers hasn’t wavered in his pledge to the Buckeyes. He has been on campus several times and has helped recruit other prospects, trying to add to a group that currently ranks atop the class rankings.
Ewers is widely considered the best quarterback in this class, so it’s big for the Buckeyes’ future offense to have another ESPN 300 quarterback to go along with Kyle McCord, who signed in 2021, and C.J. Stroud and Jack Miller, who signed in 2020.
Top uncommitted:
Jayden Denegal
ESPN 300 rank: 163
Of the 27 ESPN 300 quarterbacks in this class, only four are uncommitted. The top-ranked uncommitted quarterback is Denegal, who is the No. 163-ranked recruit. Nicco Marchiol, ranked No. 239, is also on this list, as he recently decommitted from Florida State.
Denegal is a 6-foot-5, 230-pound recruit out of Apple Valley High School in Apple Valley, California. He recently added an offer from Utah State and is camping at programs across the country in June.
He has been out to UCLA and Northwestern, while Michigan State, Colorado and Colorado State are also in the picture.
Running back
Top committed:
Emmanuel Henderson
Alabama
Henderson, the No. 16-ranked recruit, is a 6-1, 185-pound prospect out of Geneva County High School in Hartford, Alabama. He is the highest-ranked commitment in Alabama’s class, but he’s not the only ESPN 300 running back committed to the Tide.
They also have Le’veon Moss, the No. 49-ranked recruit overall, who is 6 feet, 190 pounds out of Louisiana. The running back room in Tuscaloosa is going to be stocked for the next few seasons in Tuscaloosa, especially considering the staff signed ESPN 300 running backs Camar Wheaton — the No. 3 back in the 2021 class — Jase McClellan and Roydell Williams, both 2020 recruits.

Branson Robinson
ESPN 300 rank: 19
Only eight of the 28 ESPN 300 running backs in this class are committed, so there are still a ton of really good prospects waiting to make a commitment.
Branson is a 5-10, 220-pound recruit out of Madison, Mississippi, who had 1,179 rush yards last season with 15 touchdowns. He’s a top-20 recruit who has not yet come out with a commitment date.
He released a top list in April consisting of Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee, and he has been active in taking visits throughout June. Robinson has taken trips to Georgia, Clemson and Alabama, and he is still planning to visit Tennessee before the month is up.
Wide receiver

Talyn Shettron
Oklahoma
Oklahoma has two of the top five wide receivers in the class committed in Shettron and Luther Burden, who are both ranked in the top 50 overall.
Shettron is a 6-3, 185-pound prospect from Edmond, Oklahoma, ranked No. 17 overall. He’s the fourth-best receiver in the class and Burden is No. 5. Oklahoma had the No. 2 receiver, Jordan Hudson, committed as well, but he recently decommitted.
Shettron had 1,152 receiving yards last season with 14 touchdowns, and between him and Burden, Oklahoma has seven ESPN 300 wide receiver commitments over the past three classes.

Evan Stewart
ESPN 300 rank: 8
As of now, 24 of the 44 ESPN 300 wide receivers are uncommitted, including the top three receivers in the class and six of the top 10.
Stewart is the No. 1 receiver in the class out of Liberty High School in Frisco, Texas. He’s 6 feet, 175 pounds, and rated five stars.
He has offers from nearly every major program in the country and is taking advantage of his opportunity to visit schools in June. He has already been out to Florida, Texas A&M and Texas, but he says he still wants to take trips to USC and Alabama, as well. He could make a decision shortly after he’s done with his trips.
Offensive line

Will Campbell
LSU
Campbell is a 6-6, 275-pound tackle from Neville High School in Monroe, Louisiana. He’s the No. 7 offensive tackle in the class and has been committed to the Tigers since January.
He’s one of two ESPN 300 offensive line commits in LSU’s class, joining Bo Bordelon, and he’s the second-highest-ranked commitment behind quarterback Walker Howard.

Devon Campbell
ESPN 300 rank: 7
Of the 30 ESPN 300 tackles, 18 are uncommitted, including the top six. All five of the ESPN 300 guards are uncommitted as well, leaving 23 ESPN 300 linemen still out there.
Campbell is the highest ranked of the bunch at No. 7 overall, two spots ahead of IMG Academy’s Tyler Booker, who released a top five of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Ohio State and Oregon in April. Campbell is a 6-4, 310-pound five-star prospect from Arlington, Texas.
He released a top seven in February of Alabama, Florida State, Houston, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas and USC. Campbell recently took a visit to USC and has also been out to Oklahoma.
Tight end
Top committed:
Jake Johnson
LSU
At No. 108 overall, Johnson is the second-highest-ranked tight end in the class. He’s a 6-5, 210-pound tight end who has been committed to LSU since April.
He’s the fourth-highest-ranked commit in LSU’s class and part of a really good offensive haul for the Tigers. With him and the aforementioned Howard, Campbell and Bordelon, as well as fellow ESPN 300 receivers Aaron Anderson and A.J. Johnson, the Tigers have the No. 3 class in the 2022 cycle.
The staff signed three-star tight end Jalen Shead in 2021 and three-star Kole Taylor in 2020. The coaches also signed five-star Arik Gilbert in the 2020 class, but Gilbert has since transferred and is now at Georgia.
Top uncommitted:
Jaleel Skinner
ESPN 300 rank: 68
All but three of the 11 ESPN 300 tight ends in the class are committed. Skinner, Oscar Delp and Carsen Ryan are the three uncommitted as of now.
Skinner released a top 10 of Alabama, Arizona State, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas at the end of May. It could be a while before Skinner actually makes an announcement, but similar to other uncommitted prospects, his visits might dictate what happens and when.
He has visited Florida and Alabama, is planning to visit Miami and could save some visits for the fall.
