Mishra tested positive on the same day that IPL 2021 was suspended indefinitely, when the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic sweeping across India began to penetrate the tournament’s biosecure bubble, with players and staff from multiple franchises – including four from the Kolkata Knight Riders – testing positive for the virus.
