Sources: Makhachev-Moises in the works for July

UFC lightweight Islam Makhachev is set to return to the Octagon in July, according to multiple sources.

The UFC is close to finalizing a lightweight bout between Makhachev and Thiago Moises at UFC Fight Night on July 17 in Las Vegas, per sources. The bout will consist of three rounds. The promotion has not yet booked a main event for the July 17 date.

Makhachev (19-1), a teammate of retired former champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, is riding a seven-fight win streak. The Dagestani fighter is 8-1 overall in the UFC. He is coming off a dominant submission win against Drew Dober in March.

Moises (15-4), of Sao Paulo, Brazil, is on a three-fight win streak that includes victories over Michael Johnson, Bobby Green and Alexander Hernandez. He is 4-2 overall in the UFC.
